Creating The Village Guide

We’re sure you’ve heard of The Village. A multifunctional complex that combines business with pleasure by hosting events, housing a number of businesses and eateries, and existing as a hub of innovation and connectivity here in Windhoek.

This third space has been famous for more than twenty years for bringing people together, and while we all go to The Village for different reasons, one can agree that you always leave as a part of something… a community. One that celebrates all the things that bring people together and grows as one. This is what motivated us when we were asked to write their monthly newsletter, The Village Guide.

We had a clear mission: to develop a newsletter that would not only inform readers about the happenings of the multiplex but also foster a sense of connection among the property tenants, patrons, and visitors. Carrying all their voices and sharing their thoughts and experiences.

What We Did

Newsletter Design & Visual Language

With the use of Mailchimp, we created a fully customisable layout and visual style unique to The Village. This included a set of banners and layout structures that make each letter edition easy to navigate and enjoyable to read.

This cohesive visual identity reflects the natural, grounded essence of The Village but also brings structure and rhythm into play. Some of these elements are used interchangeably, depending on the focus, to keep the experience dynamic while maintaining brand consistency.

Copywriting & Voice Development

Our writing process for The Village Guide is grounded in the voice of The Village, one that is warm, approachable, and community-centred. Every piece of content is intentionally crafted to feel conversational and interactive, inviting the reader to become a part of this community.

We spotlight businesses, share updates about the grounds, and tell stories from real Villagers, all with the aim of reflecting the inclusive and collaborative spirit of The Village.
