The Film Week 2026
There are certain projects we look forward to year in and year out, and one of those is The Film Week by the Namibia Film Commission.
Created as a platform to bring Namibian film to the public, The Film Week has grown into much more than that. It’s a space where Namibians gather to network, learn, share, and celebrate both the industry and each other.
Our role has always been to ensure the platform is visible online, and make sure audiences know what’s happening, when it’s happening.
Building Momentum
This year, The Film Week was integrated into the highly anticipated Namibian Theatre and Film Awards, elevating both its reach and impact.
As always, the programme was packed — workshops led by industry professionals, international guests, screenings, panels and masterclasses. A true exchange of knowledge and creativity.
Our job? To ensure all of it was communicated clearly, consistently and in a way that built excitement.
Before 2025 even ended, we began building momentum — announcing dates and revisiting highlights from previous editions. As 2026 began, we leaned into nostalgia, sharing content from past Film Weeks to reignite interest and anticipation.
This gave the NFC team time to brief us on the upcoming programme — and once that came through, the real work began.
Crafting the Look & Feel
In 2025, our Design Lead, Avenida, developed the visual identity for this year’s Film Week, continuing a tradition we uphold annually.
Our Design Lead, Avenida Katamila
We retained the familiar dusty blue palette while introducing refreshed elements to evolve the brand — striking a balance between consistency and reinvention.
Once approved, the rollout began across multiple touchpoints:
Industry programme (print & digital)
Screening schedule (print & digital)
Posters for workshops, panels and masterclasses
Social media graphics
As the event drew closer, additional design needs came into play:
The Film Week T-shirts
Event screen visuals
Direction Signage
Content & Collaboration
Alongside design, we led the social media strategy and content development.
To amplify reach, we collaborated with Adriano Visagie, a Namibian actor and influencer, who helped bring a dynamic, on-the-ground voice to the campaign.
Together, we created content that:
It was a seamless collaboration and a reminder of the power of authentic storytelling.
Reimagining the Opening Night
Beyond digital, we also supported the client with the opening night experience.
We proposed transforming the space into a live production-inspired set to create an immersive environment for guests. One standout element was a vintage TV installation, designed as an interactive photo moment, bringing both nostalgia and visual impact to the event.
A challenge that presented itself during preparations was that, due to venue restrictions, popcorn (a staple of The Film Week) couldn’t be served in the auditorium.
Rather than removing it entirely, we reimagined it.
We kept the iconic popcorn boxes, but repurposed them into curated guest packs containing:
The industry programme
A Film Week bingo card
A branded water bottle
This ensured brand visibility remained strong while also enhancing the guest experience.
Executing in Real Time
When the week arrived, our team split roles to cover every angle of the event.
Our focus was simple: document, amplify, and engage in real time.
This meant:
Consistent Instagram Stories coverage
Live updates across events
Capturing high-quality photo and video content
Producing daily recap reels
Conducting interviews with guests and filmmakers
Sharing key moments and insights as they happened
It was fast-paced, demanding — and incredibly rewarding.
The Impact
The results spoke for themselves:
Significant growth across the client’s social platforms
Milestone follower achievements
Increased audience engagement
Consistent tagging and organic sharing by attendees
Content from the event circulating widely online
A noticeable rise in new followers and interest in the platform
Looking Ahead
Pulling off a week of this scale is no small feat. Congratulations to the NFC team for pulling it off!
We’re grateful for the continued partnership with the Namibia Film Commission, and for the opportunity to contribute to a platform that continues to shape and celebrate Namibian storytelling.
A successful week, without a doubt.
And yes, we’re already looking forward to the next one.
